Hello and Welcome!
My name is Ms. Townsend, and I am excited to be your School Counselor. This is my 24th year working at Etiwanda Intermediate School. I started my journey at ESD as a teacher and worked as an academic advisor before becoming the school counselor. I am the mother of two adult children who attended EIS, and I also live in the community.
As school counselor, my goal is to meet the diverse needs of all of our students. The school counseling program focuses on the academic, social/emotional, and career development needs of every student.
I am here to support you and your family each and every step of the way. Please reach out to me if you are in need of assistance.

Meet Your Student Services Team
The Student Services Team consist of our School Counselor, Academic Advisor and School Psychologist.
Together we assist students and families in navigating through these challenging times by promoting academic skills building, increasing social and emotional competency, and providing insight into how students learn to increase their chances for academic success. We believe all of these services are central to ensuring a child’s best start.
Etiwanda Intermediate has recognized that by addressing these areas we are able to increase students' protective factors and lead to better outcomes for the whole child, and students will be healthier, happier, and more likely to succeed.
