Our mission is to
Build empathy, justice, & community
Foster youth agency & leadership
In this student-driven and -led program, participants drive community change through collaborative partnerships with local community organizations and with each other.
Participants build their leadership skills through a framework of justice and positive change. This program will build on civics and introduce community based development, basic organizing skills and more.
In our programs, we emphasize that change and impact is a PROCESS and center learning about our communities within ETHS, Evanston, and the greater Chicago area and learning about ourselves.
Open to rising sophomores and juniors, students in the Initiative program partner with a local organization to create their own service project within the community.
Open to all grade levels: freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Students in the Sustainability program choose past Initiative projects to sustain and improve on.
