Meet the Team
David Chan is currently the Director of Instructional Technology at Evanston Township High School (ETHS). David taught math and science for 10 years (5 at Roycemore School, 5 at ETHS) before becoming the Technology Integration Specialist for 5 years at ETHS. David is a Google for Education Certified Innovator and Google Certified Trainer. He serves as the Conference Co-Chair for #ICE18 (Illinois Computing Educators), Workshops Co-Chair for #ISTE18 and is the past president for NICE (Northern Illinois Computing Educators).
Aliaa Ibrahim joined the Ed Tech Team at ETHS in 2016 as a Technology Integration Specialist. Prior to that, she served as a Technology Integration Specialist for one year and math and social studies teacher for 7 years in Prospect Heights, Illinois. Aliaa loves working in the classroom with students and collaborating with teachers to integrate technology into daily lessons in meaningful and engaging ways. She is a Google Certified Educator, and enjoys attending and delivering professional development sessions at numerous conferences throughout Northern Illinois.
Mina Marien has served as an Instructional Technology Specialist at ETHS for the past four years. She previously taught Latin and supported teachers in the World Languages department as an instructional coach. She loves working with students in classes throughout the school and enjoys collaborating with teachers to design and teach tech integrated lessons. Outside of school she serves as the co-chair for NICE MiniCon and is a Google Education Trainer. In her free time she likes to spend time with her family, partake in various DIY projects, and tend her beehives.
Danielle Petros joined the ETHS community in 2015 as a Media Specialist supporting students and classes in the South Technology Center. She began her role as the Support Specialist Trainer in January 2017, focusing on the technology integration and support of the non-instructional staff at ETHS. Previously, she worked at Apple as a Personal trainer and workshop facilitator.
