Meet the Team
David Chan is currently the Director of Instructional Technology at Evanston Township High School (ETHS). David taught math and science for 10 years (5 at Roycemore School, 5 at ETHS) before becoming the Technology Integration Specialist for 5 years at ETHS. David is a Google for Education Certified Innovator and Google Certified Trainer. He serves as the Conference Co-Chair for #ICE19 (Illinois Computing Educators), Workshops Co-Chair for #ISTE19 and is the past president for NICE (Northern Illinois Computing Educators).
Jessica Don joined the Instructional Technology team at ETHS in 2019. Prior to this role, worked with the World Languages department, supporting their tech needs. She enjoys finding ways for technology to make it easier for students and staff to achieve their goals.
Mina Marien has served as an Instructional Technology Specialist at ETHS since 2013. She previously taught Latin at ETHS and supported teachers in the World Languages department as an instructional coach. She loves working with students in classes throughout the school and enjoys collaborating with teachers to design and teach tech integrated lessons. Outside of school she serves on the NICE (Northern Illinois Computing Educator) Board as the co-chair for NICE MiniCon and is a Google Education Trainer.
Melanie Marzen has served as an Instructional Technology Specialist at ETHS since 2018. Prior to this role, she taught Astronomy and Geology at ETHS for five years, and middle school science for two years. In addition to supporting teachers, she is actively engaged in STEAM education through her work in coding web development. She is passionate about developing the whole student through project based learning. She aims to do this by pairing hard skills (e.g. programming, data manipulation) with soft skills (e.g. group collaboration, presenting ideas).
