These are real classes. They count for credit. The grades earned in these classes will appear on your transcript.
So glad you asked!
The dates are Thursday June 20 to Friday July 19 (July 4/5 is a holiday)!
Our day will begin at 8:30 am and run 5.75 hours to 2:45 pm (tentative). 2024 update: The hours are being changed by a few minutes. Stay tuned for updates.
You'll receive an email from me (Jason Dries - DriesJ@esuhsd.org) after requesting to be in the class.
Filling out the APPLICATION is not entry into Summer School. You must wait for an email from me. Please keep checking your emails and make sure you list the correct email address! School counselors do not put you in summer school - they only recommend you for it. You must respond to the emails and fill out the forms and wait for emails.
Students can only receive 10 credits in the summer. Most students complete 2 semester of one class in the summer giving them the 10 credits total. The only way to take more than one class (meaning 1 semester of x and one semester of y) is if the course is offered in Cyber High. Cyber High offers limited coursework so please double check before inquiring about taking more than one class.
We are 100% in person learning for Summer 2024.

Our info as of March 20, 2024:
We're offering ONE acceleration courses for current students in Math (Math Analysis). These are offered to students who have demonstrated mastery in their past math courses.
We are also offering for the several classes aimed at incoming 9th graders:
We are offering a Math 2 class for incoming 9th graders. Successful completion of this will put them in Math 3 when the school year starts in August.
We are offering a Summer Bridge for incoming 9th graders. See above for description.
We are offering a World History acceleration class for 9th graders (World History is a sophomore requirement).
We are also offering Cyber High for students who are behind on credits and need to catch up. This is an online course and is SELF PACED. Students in Cyber High must demonstrate daily progress. These meet IN PERSON ON CAMPUS DAILY.
We are offering a Math 1/Math 2/Math 3 remedial class for students needing to recover credits.
We are offering an English 1 recovery class for students needing to recover English 1 credits.
We are offering a Biology recovery class.
All of these are tentative classes for the moment. We are still discussing options with the district and trying to place teachers. Nothing is 100% for sure at the moment.
Student progress on Cyber High will be monitored daily by their Cyber High teachers. Students must exhibit meaningful progress on a daily basis or they'll be dropped and their spot assigned to someone else. These classes meet IN PERSON AND ON CAMPUS every day.
