Our amazing students had the opportunity to take a field trip! Students who are A-G eligible and earning a 3.5+ GPA for 2nd grading period were invited to attend a UC Berkeley tour complete with lunch at their dining commons (40 attended).

On Friday, October 3, our Football Teams sent us out into vacation with the biggest win of the season ! Both JV and Varsity teams brought home the bells - from San Jose's 2nd longest running rivalry game - James Lick vs. Andrew Hill.

Two of our students earned a free bike and full accessories after participating in the City of San Jose's Walk n' Roll's Summer Bike Clinic. Minh Thao Pham and Ngoc Hung Pham earned their Park Tool mechanics certificate and some bikes! Here is a picture of them receiving their new bikes on Friday.

On Friday, our Leilani Cortez Ramirez officially signed her letter of intent to play soccer for the University of Arizona. Leilani will play D1 soccer at UofA on a full-ride scholarship. It was a heartfelt and emotional celebration on Friday afternoon. Congratulations to Leilani!

Congratulations to the Girl's Flag Football for the first victory in James Lick Girl's Flag Football history, beating Piedmont Hills 12-7 on Thursday afternoon. Samarah West threw two touchdown passes, the first to Izkra Gomez, and the game-winning touchdown to Ashely Nieto. Bella Palomino and Alex De Los Santos also contributed on offense. The defense, anchored by Iris Gomez, Juliette Bradley, Angie Alvarez, Rkkarrcya Levingston, Daisy Gonzalez, Giselle Chacon, Carolyn Tran, and Marlie Haro, sealed the win with a defensive stand to end the game. Great job Lady Comets!

14 of our ASB & Leadership students proudly represented James Lick at a 3 day overnight ESUHSD Leadership Camp at Santa Clara University from July 23 to July 25th. They learned a lot of valuable leadership skills, met a ton of student leaders from the district, and are super energized to lead our campus spirit and engagement this school year!

She also won 3rd place and $25 from American Vacuum Society.
