Details for Participants:

• Meals will NOT be provided, please plan to go out or bring your own.

• ESU 6 Title III Consortium districts are eligible for mileage reimbursement and standard stipend.

• Have these items accessible:

  • Laptop/Computer

  • Copy of the Rule 15 Implementation Guide (printed or digital)

  • District EL Program Review and summary (most recent)

  • District Data: Achievement, demographic, perceptual, and other pertinent data related to your English learners compared to non-ELs (For a sample of data, you might consider reviewing Guidance Slides (NDE) or the sample EL Data Worksheet. Also ask your DAC for the ELPA21 On-Track Report in ADVISER.)

Essentials for New/ish EL Educators

This was a brand new opportunity for educators who are new (or within the first few years) of supporting English Learners. We welcomed 49 educators including administrators, coordinators, teachers, and paraeducators. We explored a variety of helpful resources and learned about EL essentials such as stages of language acquisition, Rule 15, ELPA21, Nebraska English Language Standards, and more.
