​Heading into his freshman year of high school, Hunter faced tragedy with the loss of his mother to cancer. While coping with the situation, Hunter developed a vision of making a positive impact on people's lives.
As a 12-year-old, Hunter created the Twitter account @AthleteNation where he shared inspirational and uplifting messages. Today, Athlete Nation is a sports media company with a platform of over 70,000 followers.
As a recognized professional speaker before graduating high school in 2017, Hunter shares his story of overcoming adversity to help empower others to make a difference. Hunter works in guiding today's generations to leverage the power of social media to change the world for the better
Heather Callihan is the Technology Integration Specialist for Northwest Public Schools in Grand Island, Ne. Heather is currently the NETA Board president (@YourNETA), Common Sense Certified Educator and Ambassador. Heather has a passion for integrating technology in education. She believes learning needs to be visible and students need to master skills involving Collaboration, Creation, Communication and Critical Thinking. With seamless integration of technology, students have multiple opportunities to experience this and become well-rounded learners.
Heather believes in building and maintaining a positive digital presence. She has a passion for sharing the importance of digital leadership with students and adults. Heather loves learning and love building my professional learning network with others who share this goal and passion.
Cameron Hudson is currently the high school principal of the rural Nebraska School District of High Plains Community Schools. During his 9 years as an educational leader he has overseen the development of a career readiness and technology based education that has seen the transition to Google tools, paperless learning environments, creation of digital learning centers, and personalized learning. In addition, High Plains Community was one of the first 1 to 1 schools in the state of Nebraska. Recently Mr. Hudson received the Excellence in Leading with Technology Award by the Nebraska Educational Technology Association. Cameron and his wife Holly have three children - Cooper, Kassidy, and Hadley and reside in the central Nebraska Community of Aurora.
Dr. Nick Ziegler is the Technology Integration Specialist at ESU 5. Nick is heavily involved in multiple statewide EdTech initiatives. He is a co-founder of the ESUCC/NCSA BlendEd Pilot project, a NETA Board member, a co-creator of the NETA Technology Integration Specialist group, a member of the ESU Teaching and Learning with Technology Advisory Committee, and a member of the Future Ready Nebraska Advisory Committee. Nick is very excited to kick of the ESU 5 ISTE Challenge!
Nick will speak at multiple points throughout the conference to help contextualize BlendEd learning instructional strategies (enhanced differentiation, mastery learning, & deeper-level application of content area standards) & the ESU 5 ISTE Challenge (deeper-level application of content area standards through projects also fostering the digital age skills defined by the ISTE Standards for Students) within the broader Future Ready Framework.
