Social Studies educators from across the state have created 3-5 day inquiry units in grades 4-8. They have been vetted and are considered HQIM (high quality instructional materials). These units can be accessed at the Nebraska OER Commons Site or through this Google Sheet
Have a personal conversation with a historical figure.
Students "jump into" a primary source image then identify what they would see, hear, feel smell, touch etc based on the location in the image that they chose to jump. (Students can be any size). An alternative could provide the other students opportunity to guess where the student is located in the image based on the description.
Students select the seven most significant words in the document. These can be put in a word cloud or shared. Debate can follow based on which words were included or left out.
Thoughts, Questions, Epiphanies is a process to help students understand and connect to primary sources through small group and whole class inquiry.

Our Mission
We strive to map Indigenous lands in a way that changes, challenges, and improves the way people see the history of their countries and peoples. We hope to strengthen the spiritual bonds that people have with the land, its people, and its meaning.
We strive to map Indigenous territories, treaties, and languages across the world in a way that goes beyond colonial ways of thinking in order to better represent how Indigenous people want to see themselves.
