Coaching for Community and Belonging is a component of coaching that reflects on the conditions and systems that impact children, families, and educators. First, it is important to consider what the definition of equity is as compared to equality in the work of early childhood coaching. Equality is when everyone gets the same thing regardless of their needs. Equity is when everyone gets a fair and just opportunity to thrive, according to their needs.
As we reflect on these definitions and consider how we can influence equitable learning environments for all children, families, and educators, let us continue this journey to create more healing educational systems.
