A sensor is a device that detects and responds to some type of input from the physical environment. The specific input could be light, heat, motion, moisture, pressure, or any one of a great number of other environmental phenomena. When connected to other electronic equipment, the sensor can send you valuable data about your environment.
Can your plant tell you when it's ready to be watered? Are you able to count the number of students that walk into your classroom? What else can you do with all those sensors? The SparkFun website is chock full of experiments for the equipment in this station. After you check out the sensor kit's hotlink in the equipment list below, click around the site and find an experiment that speaks to you!
