At the ESU 10 Regional Science Olympiad...
...we do NOT RUN ALL THE EVENTS IN THE RULE BOOK !!!
...coaches are required to be Event Supervisors.
...there are NO non-competitive, events, teams/students.
...membership with the State & National Science Olympiad organization is a requirement to participate. This needs to be completed anytime before March 17th.
...we do NOT provide any food or drink. Lunch is on your own.
...if you coach more than one team you need to bring an assistant to supervise students.
...team shirts are not required but all students should wear a shirt/sweatshirt that has your school name on it.
...competitors are responsible for bringing the correct eyewear to events.
Schedule of Events
A schedule of events will be released in January 2027. This schedule will include Event Supervisor assignments. Events are subject to change based on registration.
Directions and Expectations of EVENT SUPERVISORS
Go to SOINC.org to learn more about each event, including event resources, videos, practice tests, and more.
Prepare the event ahead of time
Bring all needed supplies for students to participate and for you to judge (score, grade, measure, time, etc.)
Create tests and/or activities that follow the guidelines for your event in the National Science Olympiad Rule Book
Printed tests with answer key any additional paperwork needed for your event
All tests, scoring guides/rubrics will need to be turned in to the scorekeepers. If you use a digital scoring guide/rubric email your spreadsheet to dianah.steinbrink@esu10.org at the conclusion of scoring.

The Event Logistics manual can be helpful but are just a guide. Many of our events will be in the open indoor gym and we have no access to a lab.
Competitor Limits
Max of 15 students per team in each division
Max of 4 events per student
Only 1 entry per event for each team
Writing Utensil Policy
POLICY: All competitors are responsible for showing up at an event with all materials needed to participate. That includes bringing a writing utensil. Teams who show up without a writing utensil will not receive one from the event supervisor nor will they be allowed to try to get one from another team. Teams without a utensil will be allowed to leave the test room and procure one, however any time taken to get a utensil will be time taken away from the testing time.
