LALP Alumni Professional Development Program
Strategic Leadership in a Changing World
A one-day executive learning experience for alumni across the private, public, and nonprofit sectors
Today’s leaders are navigating a world marked by geopolitical uncertainty, technological disruption, shifting economic dynamics, and increasing pressure to lead across sectors, institutions, and cultures. In this environment, leadership requires more than expertise in one field. It calls for perspective, judgment, adaptability, and the ability to make sense of change in real time.
The LALP Alumni Professional Development Program has been designed to offer alumni a meaningful opportunity to return to Georgetown for a day of high-level learning, reflection, and connection. Bringing together alumni from all the LALP programs, this special one-day experience will create space to engage with timely global issues while strengthening leadership capacities.
This one-day multisession course offers LALP alumni the opportunity to reconnect with Georgetown faculty and fellow regional leaders while exploring the forces reshaping leadership today. Participants will examine emerging global trends, consider their implications for Latin America and beyond, and develop practical insights for leading more effectively in complex and rapidly evolving environments.
Designed for LALP alumni who want to continue engaging, connecting, and learning with peers across the region, the program will explore both emerging opportunities and pressing challenges affecting leadership in the current global landscape.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the program, participants will be able to:
Articulate key global trends shaping the leadership landscape across sectors, including geopolitical shifts, technological transformation, and strategic risk.
Evaluate how current developments may affect organizations, institutions, and communities in Latin America and in an increasingly interconnected world.
Identify leadership capabilities needed to navigate uncertainty, complexity, and cross-sector collaboration more effectively.
Apply practical frameworks and insights to strengthen strategic thinking, decision-making, and leadership effectiveness in their own professional contexts.
Topics
While the final faculty lineup is still being confirmed, the program is expected to address topics such as:
Leadership in a changing global environment
Geopolitics and its implications for leaders and institutions
Artificial intelligence, technology, and the future of work
Cybersecurity, resilience, and strategic risk
Decision-making under uncertainty
Cross-sector leadership and systems change
The human side of leadership: judgment, adaptability, and influence in complex times
Through faculty perspectives, applied discussion, and peer exchange, the program will offer a broad yet relevant lens on the major forces shaping leadership today.
