Tuning Forks: Weighted and Non-Weighted Resonance Frequencies
Tuning forks have been used to tune instruments, to evaluate various medical problems, example; hearing
and neurological function, observing the sound conduction through bone. In recent years, holistic practitioners have used tuning forks to help balance the body's energetic structures.
The original tuning fork was invented in 1711 by musician John Shore, with a pitch of 440Hz, the musical
note of A4. In 1834, Johann Heinrich Schreiber, a German physicist, created a set of 54 tuning forks
ranging from 220 Hz to 44Hz. Since the inception of the original tuning fork, the use of the tuning fork
has expanded exponentially.
Currently, there are weighted and non-weighted tuning forks used in Holistic Therapies. Weighted
tuning forks are placed on various parts of the body, and non-weighted tuning forks are used within the
auric field (the energy field surrounding the body).
The tuning forks use an energetic vibration called Hz to help the body's healing system rebalance.
Remember, our physical bodies communicate via energy loops; our nervous system uses electrochemical
synapses to send signals via the cellular system. We live in a sea of energy (electromagnetics), and our
bodies use energy to function; the tuning fork vibration, using various Hz, can help the body realign.
Because components of the body are liquid crystal, including collagen and cell membranes, there can be
an instantaneous transfer of signals and other biological information. The sound, vibration, frequency,
and resonance from the weighted tuning forks can influence our body's crystalline structures, allowing our
bodies' self-regulating process to maintain a stable internal environment. Our bodies are about 70% fluid,
and water responds to vibrations produced by the various Hz. I realized that the vibration, resonance, and
frequencies produced using tuning forks sink deep into the cells of our body. Our inner wisdom knows
what our bodies need, taking in the frequencies, vibrations, and resonances produced by the tuning forks
and helping our bodies realign.
Tuning forks are associated with spiritual and holistic traditions. Edgar Cayce said, “Sound will be the
next medicine.” That was in the early 1900’s. It has taken a long time; however, I do believe the sound,
vibration, and resonance produced by the various tuning fork Hz can help our bodies.
Sound can change our attitudes from sad to balanced. Tuning forks use vibration to produce sound,
allowing the sound/vibration to sink into our body. I encourage you to be curious while investigating the
uses for tuning forks.
I teach both Weighted and Non-Weighted Tuning Fork Workshops at Essential Energies. I also offer
personal tuning fork appointments and Sound Therapy at Body Links, if you have questions or want to
make an appointment, call or text Body Links 517-796-8060.
