Yes, it is true, summer is drawing to a close. The days are getting shorter, and regardless of the seemingly relentless heat we, in the Jackson, Michigan area, have been enduring the past few weeks, soon the bright, sunshiny days will give way to a hazy shade of winter. Maybe some of us were lucky enough to go on vacation, a sweet escape. Yet not all were so lucky. Some couldn’t get away for one reason or another.
No matter if you had all summer off or you couldn’t even squeeze in a long weekend, there is always an option for a mini vacay. A bit of time to catch your breath, slow your mind, heal your soul.
A massage can be your ticket, your path, your vehicle to a mini vacay. It’s a good article, but the benefit I want to explore here today is the break, or as I call it, a “mini vacay” that we all ever so very much need, not just in summer, but periodically all year round.
As a Massage Therapist, I’d like to think that nearly every massage session can be a mini vacation. An hour or so, to escape. Put the phone on silent, close your eyes, find a cloud to carry you away from the noise, chaos, and stress which, much like this heat, seemingly melts our souls into a lumpy, gooey mess, like a chocolate bar on the seat of a car in the blazing sun.
A massage with restorative work for those nasty deposits of stress the world left on your shoulders blended perfectly with deep relaxation in a room filled with pleasant aromas, soft music and a very noticeable absence of an ever demanding world that can feel like it simultaneously dumps issue after issue, problem after problem on you as it steals away your energy to carry the load you already had, let alone the new junk poured on you day after day.
Although I would love for you to try a massage as a way to your mini-vacay. It would be very remiss of me to say it’s the only path.
