Call for papers

ESSEC Business School will host a Conference related to the Journal of Retailing special issue entitled "Retail in the age of global uncertainty: The impact of the macro-environment on the retail space and vice versa" on June 6-8, 2024, in Paris. Papers presented at (or attendance to) the conference will not impact the editorial process or acceptance of papers in the special issue.

This Retailing Conference is meant to inspire cutting-edge scholarly research that examines the changing landscape of retailing in this age of global uncertainty. Questions can be studied from the perspective of consumers, retailers, brands, competitors, platforms, markets, or policymakers. Consistent with JR’s editorial mission, submitted papers can address all aspects of retailing, its management, evolution, and current theory. For more depth on these principles, we invite you to read the recent JR special issue call for papers with the same title as this conference.

The event will emphasize developmental and productive discussions and networking opportunities. In case you are interested, we invite you to submit a research project relevant to the scope of the conference in the format of a 1 or 2-page abstract. The presentation should be submitted in PDF format between the 1st of September 2023 and the 31st of October 2023 by email to retailing-conf@essec.edu. If your presentation is accepted, you will receive a follow-up email with registration instructions. Other details about the conference, including the program overview, accommodation, and travel information, are provided on the conference’s website: https://sites.google.com/essec.edu/retailing-conference2024/

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions about the event or if you need any assistance in planning your trip.

We hope to see you in Paris next summer!

On behalf of our organizing committee, best regards,

Marc, Katrijn, and Rob
