Biography

Jonathan Dean is Head of Impact Investing at AXA IM, and lead Portfolio Manager of AXA IM’s ~€600m Impact Investing platform. He manages the 4 existing impact funds at AXA IM covering multiple impact themes including: Financial Inclusion, Access to Healthcare, Education, Climate Resilience and Protection of Biodiversity & Natural Capital.

Jonathan covers the full private market asset spectrum, particularly private equity, private debt and real assets. He is a voting Investment Committee member and has overseen each of the 40+ transactions executed since the inception of the platform in 2012. He also plays an active role in the governance of the portfolio as both a Board member and advisory board representative.

Jonathan was instrumental in establishing and growing the impact investing expertise at AXA IM, assuming responsibility for sourcing; analysis; strategy due diligence; portfolio construction and portfolio management.

Jonathan’s career has always been focused on investing in Alternatives, prior to joining the AXA IM in 2009 he was in UBS Global Asset Management’s Derivatives team.

Jonathan holds both a BSc Hons in Management and Geography, and a Diploma in Professional Studies from Loughborough University where he specialised in Sustainable Development. He is also qualified as a Green Belt in Six Sigma.
