COMEXT research project was established to meet the growing interest for inter-organizational or inter-service coordination in hospitals, and between medical and non-medical first responder teams.
The goal of the initiative is twofold. Its first goal is to enhance knowledge about coordination, sensemaking, and learning in extreme situations. Second, it strives to improve emergency response coordination, training, and learning processes associated with the management of extreme contexts and crisis.
Objectives:
Examine the impact of increased complexity in extreme situations on first responder coordination and decision-making;
Identify key success factors in the organization and coordination of responders to extreme crises in order to determine the conditions for effective coordination.
Propose new forms of organizational coordination, recruiting, training, and learning.
