The School Clinic ensures that all patients who visit for medical evaluation are given due attention and management. This program aims to:
Assess the health status of consulting clients
Provide primary care treatment to alleviate presenting symptoms during consultation and/or confinement
Ensure the security and safety of all sick patients as they leave the clinic
By definition, a physical examination is an evaluation of the body and its functions using inspection, palpation (feeling with the hands), percussion (tapping with the fingers), and auscultation (listening). A complete health assessment also includes gathering information about a person's medical history and lifestyle, doing laboratory tests, and screening for disease.
Dental Examination is an inspection of the teeth and surrounding soft tissues of the oral cavity. The examiner generally uses an explorer, a slender steel instrument with a flexible, sharp point, to probe the. The examination should include inspection of the floor of the mouth, all surfaces of the tongue, the salivary glands and ducts, and the lymph nodes of the neck.
The School Clinic offers counseling to consulting patients with medical ailments and psychological disorders and is referred to the Center for Student’s Well – being for further management.

Referral is the act of transferring an individual to fully qualified professionals who can provide more appropriate specialized assistance or services. There are three types of Referrals: Emergency Referral, Inter-Unit Referral and Off-Campus Referral.
The Vaccination Program aims to:
Offer annual vaccinations to the Seton community to help prevent illness
Promote the importance of vaccination in reducing the risk of epidemics through information bulletins, which is distributed yearly or as needed.
Raise supplemental fund for the unit’s continual improvement of services
This is a voluntary undertaking. Vaccines are offered to the learners, employees and their relatives. Initial vaccinations start of the school year while catch-up immunizations are scheduled within the calendar year. Vaccines are sold at very reasonable prices. Proceeds from this program are used to upgrade the medical facilities and health services.
School nutrition services include policies and practices related to meals served during the school day, foods available in the school environment and feeding programs outside of the school day that ensure children have access to healthy nutrition when school is not in session. Traditional school food services have expanded beyond school lunches to include breakfast, healthy snacks and celebrations, and offering healthy choices in vending machines, school stores, and other venues involving food items.
There is collaboration between the School Clinic and the canteen operator in ensuring that menu would include balanced and nutritious food. Daily menu cycle or offerings is also monitored and supervised by the canteen head while the clinic staff assesses and evaluates the learner’s body mass index quarterly.
A healthy and safe environment includes the physical and aesthetic surroundings and the psychosocial atmosphere and culture of the school. Factors that influence the physical environment include the school building and the area surrounding it, any biological or chemical agents that are detrimental to health, and physical conditions such as temperature, noise, and lighting. The psychological environment includes the physical, emotional, and social conditions that affect the well-being of learners and staff.
An integrated school, parent, and community approach for enhancing the health and well-being of learners. School health advisory councils, coalitions, and broadly based constituencies for school health can build support for school health program efforts. Schools actively solicit parent involvement and engage community resources and services to respond more effectively to the health-related needs of learners.
