Social Emotional Learning - Ms. Betsy Perry

Weeks 7 & 8: May 26th - June 5th

Look For the Helpers

This lesson is for all students 4th - 5th grade. Some reading and writing help might be needed.

Welcome to our final Social-Emotional lesson! This week's video is all about "looking for the helpers", timeless advice from Mr. Rogers.

For this week's assignment I asked you to write a letter thanking some of the "helpers" in your life. Here is a list of addresses that might help get you started. I would love to hear from you and see your letters! Send me an email at bperry@eskymos.com

If you'd like to hear the song "Look For the Helpers" from Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, you can watch that video here.

For more resources on this subject, here is a great page from PBS, home of both Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood and Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood.

Week 6: May 18th -22nd

Feelings Check In: Take 2!

This lesson is for all students 4th - 5th grade. Some reading and typing help might be needed.

Last week's assignment was a "Feelings Check-In" activity through Google Forms. Only a few people turned this in! :( So I'm giving you another chance, since I really, genuinely want to know how you are doing and how school is working for you!
Note: If you filled this out last week, you do NOT need to fill it out again unless your feelings have changed and you want to do the activity again.

Week 5: May 10th - 14th

Feelings Check In

This lesson is for all students 4th - 5th grade.

I haven't heard from a lot of you since learning online started, and I miss you! This week I would like to do a feelings check-in. This is between you, your families, and myself. Your answers are not shared with your classmates.
Note: Some reading and typing help may be needed

Week 4: May 4th - 8th

This lesson is for all students 4th - 5th grade.

Let's talk about Habit 3: Putting First Things First, this week! Be sure to watch the "Big Rocks" videos on the Leader In Me site before diving in to my video.
Leader In Me: Big Rocks

Families, do you want more Habit 3 Resources? Here is an at-home Leader In Me lesson all about it! It also has a worksheet that you can do together to figure out what your family's "big rocks" are and how to make them all fit.

Week 3: April 27th - May 1st

Welcome to week 3!

This lesson is for all 4th - 5th grades students. Some reading help may be needed

This week I want to focus on Habit 2: Beginning with the end in mind. This habit is all about setting goals: Knowing what you want to achieve and what steps you need to take to get there. I would like you to listen to this great story, "The Empty Pot" by Demi by clicking the video. After listening to the story, click here to download some questions you can discuss with a family member about making goals.

After you finish, you can send me an email with your name and classroom teacher's name. I'd love to hear how it went!

Week 2: April 20th - 24th

This lesson is for all students 4th & 5th Grade.

This week's video will focus on deep breathing as a way to calm our minds and bodies, and help us focus. Enjoy!
