This is first year at Singing Hills Elementary and it is my 10th year as a teacher! I am looking forward to meeting your child and I hope to have the honor of being the teacher your child remembers one day! I am fortunate to be working with a strong team and my goal is to help you as a parent feel like a direct part of our team as we guide your child to success and instill in them a love for learning.
I graduated from The University of North Texas with a bachelor's degree in applied behavior analysis. After graduation, I earned my teaching license while teaching fifth grade, and then later, fourth grade. My husband Garrick and I married in June of 2004 and I maintained my teaching license while pursing by credentials to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). I earned a Master's of Science from Walden University and worked as a BCBA for several years. As much as I loved consulting with individuals affected by disabilities and their families, I missed working directly with children. In 2015 I returned to the classroom as a teacher and this is where I am the happiest!
Hiking is one of my favorite pastimes (I have hiked ten 14ers and twelve 13ers), but when I am not hiking I enjoy spending time with my 15 year-old son or cheering him on at his soccer games. I greatly look forward to working with all of my students this year!
