After the New Year, many holidays creep up quickly. Before you know it, plans are being made, gifts are being bought, and the last thing you want to do is be unprepared. Take Valentine’s Day for example, planning parties, buying gifts, and everything in between. Let’s knock one of those off your list: parties! They’re always a great way to spread the Valentine’s Day charm, so here’s a simple yet thorough guide to making it a festive day and lasting memory!
Who, when, where, what, & how? A simple process of elimination and brainstorming to plan the perfect party:
A party needs people, period. Have fun! Invite friends! Start by making a list of 5-10 people you’d enjoy spending time with. More or less invites are always great too, just make sure nobody’s getting left out, and nothing and no one will be harmed or hurt. Struggling to think of people? Try asking family, neighbors, and other people you know. Too many people? Prioritize people you get along with, who make you happy, and who will help you be the best version of yourself.
What time slot works best for you? Many find themselves busy, so jot down which days work for you or make a personal note. Think about when others are available, check with them, and adjust. 1-2 hours can be great, and having a sleepover is also a fun option.
Some places to host a party could be your house, a hotel (better for smaller groups), a restaurant, a theme park, and any other public or private place you have access to. Keep in mind that you should leave this location the same way it was when you got there. Don’t take location opportunities for granted, and always respect those who allow you to host. With that being said, make a plan. Where will you go? Do you think anybody will need transportation? Work this conflict out with your parents or whoever will be assisting you through this process.
We suggest that your party have a theme, something festive and fun. Maybe get some decorations, gifts, or find game ideas that can pass the time. A good game plan is the key to your invites having a good and productive time.
Start by jotting down all your information: the people, where, when, and what. An RSVP number can be helpful, and anything else you plan to put on your Invitations.
Invitations? I always love having an excuse to create invites, so I’ve got all the great ways to make them. My personal favorite is using Canva. Canva has several templates and easy ways to make cute, functional invitations. If you don’t want to make the invites, you can always go to Amazon or Etsy. When I am drawing a blank on my design, I go to Pinterest. You can almost always find amazing inspiration suited to your aesthetic.

Ah… February. Can't you smell the love in the air? February is the month that Valentine's Day is in, the cringyest day of the year. The day of love and joy, and the time when people find their match. Were going to be asking some of our very own Morgan students and see what they think of February and valentines day, and the thing that we'll see if they found their match!
When you think of Valentine's Day, what do you think of? “I think of Huzzez.”
What's your favorite Valentine's Day candy? “Chocolate.”
When you think of Valentine's Day, what do you think of? “I think of Hailey.”
Do you plan or already have a Valentine, and how did you ask them? “I have a valentine, Hailey, and I got down on my knee and asked her.”
When you think of Valentine's Day, what do you think of? “I think of candy!”
What is your love language? “When people dab me up.”
When you think of Valentine's Day, what do you think of? “I think of love.”
Would you give your valentine a box of chocolates or a teddy bear, and why? “I would give my valentine a box of chocolates because what if they don't like teddy bears?”
When you think of Valentine's Day, what do you think of? “I think of pinkness.”
What do you think Valentines are? “I think Valentines are huzzez and you give them cards.”
When normal people think about history, they're likely to think of major events that make sense, like wars and treaties—relatively normal stuff. You don't think about random stories that seem like my 5-year-old sister came up– I mean, uh, stories under very different circumstances…
Here are some historical stories that are interesting! …and questionable.
In 1945, a chicken who lived an ordinary, boring life to begin with ended up surviving something he shouldn't have. He was intended to be killed by having his head chopped off by the farmer who owned him, but miraculously survived due to all chickens' brains existing near the back of their head, so a fraction of his brain remained intact enough to operate. Fortunately, a blood clot in his neck formed in time to prevent Mike from bleeding to death. A lucky accident allowed the newly famous chicken to live two more years. He ultimately died in 1947 by choking on mucus buildup in his throat.
Yes, you read that right. America really did consider sending a real nuclear missile to the moon. What purpose, you ask? Because they didn't want the soviet union to reach the moon before them. Since WWII, the two countries have been competing to win what we now know as the Space Race. The Soviet Union had the fastest start and launched Earth's very first satellite, Sputnik 1, in 1957. Fearing they might fall behind further and lose their dignity, America began Project A119. You called it, project hey-lets-nuke-the-moon. The plan was to have an explosion so large it would be visible to the naked eye from Earth. All this to show off. Before America fell through with this very questionable idea, they ditched it for landing on the moon. Which I'm very glad for, because it would have been a very violent step for nukekind…
While this might be a fun party phrase that even pops up in some cheery songs, 16th Century France brought a whole new meaning to these simple words. Since you're probably already taking guesses like, “maybe it's how they tortured people,” or “a really committed jester,” let me clear it up. It was considered a sickness. During this extremely strange time, people would quite literally get up and dance until they collapsed from exhaustion–or died. There were up to 400 dancing the night away at a time. Although this sounds silly, it was quite frightening. To this day, scientists debate how and why it happened. The most common conclusion is that it was caused by stress-induced mass hysteria. Spooky!
…The emus! That's right, in 1932, Australia quite literally declared war on emus. (out of all the creatures that live down there…)A drought caused about 20,000 emus to move inland, thus disturbing farmers' crops and becoming quite the pests. The Australian government sent WWI veterans after them, but the soldiers soon found themselves overwhelmed by their cute birdie friends. And keep in mind that these soldiers had machine guns and other artillery and weapons. The emus actually won, and it is now known as “the great emu war”. Don't mess with emus if you can help it.
While this is a lazy way to say “Laugh out loud” in modern day, it meant something totally different in the 1960s. Popularized by Herb Caen, a columnist who used it in many of his works, including his “Only in San Fransico” as he described an old woman's outfit that consisted of a tricorn hat topped off with a stuffed bird as “The regalia of the authentic LOL.” Now you're probably really confused by what it means, because that's a weird sentence. Instead of laugh out loud, this acronym meant “Little Old Lady.” I say everyone should refer to it as that from now on.

Tina and Milo, both adorable, weasel-like stoats, are the official mascots of the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympic Winter Games. According to the official website, stoats were selected as the mascots for these Olympic Games because they represent playfulness in the great outdoors.
A stoat, also called an ermine, is a small mammal that belongs to the mustelid species. Other mustelids, which are carnivorous mammals, include badgers, otters, wolverines, and weasels.
In the wild, stoats live in the Northern Hemisphere. There are actually stoats in Washington state!
Do you want to watch a new show and not rewatch the same old show for the millionth time? Well, here is an indie show I’d suggest watching when you're looking for something new!
The Amazing Digital Circus is about a woman who gets trapped in a virtual reality world by putting on a headset on, and getting stuck in the virtual world. Once the woman is in the world, she’s turned into a character of a clown, and soon she gets named Pomni. When Pomni gets her name, she gets introduced to more people who have been stuck in the digital circus longer than her.
The characters in the show we get introduced to are: Pomni, Ragatha, Jax, Gangle, Zooble, Caine, Kinger, Bubble, and Kaufmo.
Pomni is very paranoid and anxious. She gets overwhelmed by all the chaos and often has mental breakdowns, but despite this, she’s a nice, empathetic, selfless person who cares and sees good in lots of people. She checks on people after traumatic events, and later in another episode, she even comforts an AI character named Gammigoo.
Cain, the ringmaster of the circus, gives Pomni a small tour of what’s outside the circus tent. When the tour ends, Pomni sees an exit door and tries to tell Cain, but is cut off by them reentering the tent. Once they are inside, Cain decides to make them do an adventure called “Capture The Gloinks.”

Valentine's Day is a holiday celebrated in February, specifically on the fourteenth. It is a holiday for giving chocolates, cards, and heart-shaped candy to your friends and family. However, it was not always celebrated this way. It originates from a Christian feast day honoring a martyr (someone who suffers or is killed because of their beliefs) named Valentine. Through later folk traditions, it has become a cultural and commercial celebration of love and romance around the world.
The Catholic Church recognizes at least three different saints who are connected to Valentine's Day. One of those, St Valentine, was a priest who served in third-century Rome. When Emperor Claudius the second decided that single men made better soldiers than those with families, he outlawed marriage for young men. Realizing this was unfair, Valentine continued to marry couples in secret. When Valentine’s actions were discovered, Claudius arranged his execution.
According to another legend, an imprisoned Valentine actually sent the first “valentine” himself, after he fell in love with a girl (possibly the jailor’s daughter) who visited him while he was in jail. Before his death, it is supposed that he wrote her a letter signed “ From Your Valentine,” a phrase still used today.
Cupid, known as the little cherub, launching arrows at unsuspecting lovers, is often portrayed on Valentine's cards. But the God Cupid has his roots in Greek mythology as the Greek God, Eros. According to Greek poets, Eros(or Cupid)was a handsome immortal who played with the emotions of Gods and humans, using his golden arrows to make people fall in love.
So the next time you write a note or card to someone you love, think about St Valentine, who married people in secrecy. Or Cupid, who shot golden love arrows from high to make people fall in love. Valentine’s Day is a day for love, gratitude, and emotions, not just chocolates and sweetheart candy.

It always feels nice to finish a book you have been reading for a while. After all of those thrills, cliff hangers, and luring chapters you read, it’s hard to find a book that will get you right back on the edge of your seat again. I always struggle to find a new book to read that will give me the same interest as the last couple I read did. In this article, I will list some worldwide recommended books that will get you back to reading again.
Some people like book series while others don’t. It’s nice to read multiple books that have the same concept and have lots of detail. Some recommended series books include:
The Hunger Games (This is a great series that has 3 books in the series and two prequels)
Harry Potter (This is a very popular series that includes 7 books)
Percy Jackson (This is another popular series that also has 7 books)
The Selection (This is a very intriguing series that consists of 5 books)
The Lord of the Rings (This is a nice series that has 6 books)
The Summer I Turned Pretty (An interesting series that has 3 books)
The War That Saved My Life (A good series that includes 2 books)
Girl Stolen (This is a great series that has 2 books total)
Some people prefer not to have to read an entire series. It’s always nice to get to move on to a whole other story that isn’t about the same thing as the last book. Some recommended single books include:
To Kill a Mockingbird (This book is historical fiction)
The Fault in Our Stars (This book is realistic fiction)
Anne of Green Gables (This book is realistic and historical fiction)
The Giver (This book is Dystopian Fiction)
Holes (This book is Adventure Fiction)
Tuck Everlasting (This book is Fantasy Fiction)
Charlotte's Web (This book is Fiction)
Little Women (This book is Historical Fiction)
The Perks of Being a Wallflower (This book is Fiction)
We hope you found this article helpful if you are struggling to find a good book to read.

You’ve all probably used A.I., that supercomputer with all the answers, but how did A.I. get to the point where it's coming up with more efficient solutions for problems than humans ever thought possible? In this new day and age, it's even more important to understand A.I. So, what is A.I?
The A.I. field officially began in 1956 with the Dartmouth Summer Research Project on Artificial Intelligence, which aimed to simulate human intelligence with machines. This progressed into multiple rough patches, where the computing power for that era wasnt enough to supply the A.I.s. However, after computing power increased, A.I. started to boom, and It wasnt all due to computing power. Researchers also realized that A.I. could never compete with humans on basic reasoning and ethics (for now), so they diverted A.I. into more selective categories, making A.I. really good at one thing, rather than all-around knowledge. Then, as A.I. progressed to the modern era, it started making major leaps in predictive reasoning and image recognition. ourworldindata.org has this chart, which displays well the capabilities of A.I. over the years. A.I. today is so much more advanced than initially thought, and it's only getting better, which has led many theorists to an interesting conclusion. If A.I. continues to grow exponentially as it has so far, it may become a technological singularity. A technological singularity is when a technology gains the ability to make itself better. Imagine if the most powerful modern A.I. suddenly changes its own code to make it smarter, it’s like if someone had a pill that made them 5% smarter, and let them know how to make a pill that would make them 10% smarter. If this does happen, A.I.'s capabilities will skyrocket as never seen before, which is an apprehensive thought that I hope we will never have to deal with.
A.I has become one of the most used technologies in the modern era. According to NORC.org and tableau.com, 42% of working Americans use A.I., with 49% using it for personal activities. However, over 75% of Americans use an AI-powered app or device without directly realizing it. A.I. corporations have singlehandedly implemented their products into almost every daily product that involves computers; the benefits are just too good to pass up! But is the fact that organizations use A.I. as a supplement to their app/business a good thing? A.I.s are monetarily better than humans; they can do more work, better and faster, they don't require pay, and they don't complain or have a union. This leads to people losing jobs to more favorable A.I., while companies that choose to be more humanitarian in employment may fall behind businesses that lay off people in favor of A.I. workers. A.I. is, in a way, like an addictive substance. People have become “addicted” to the enhanced capabilities that A.I. offers, while it may be detrimental to other aspects of life. Then again, maybe not, and A.I. might just be a piece of technology that enhances human work; it's for you to decide.

There are some insane world records out there that are so insane that either they were banned or outlawed from ever being broken. Today, we will go through some of the craziest world records ever set.
Himmy, an Australian domestic shorthair cat, was considered the fattest cat in the world, weighing 46.8 pounds (21.3 kilograms) before he died in 1986. Guinness World Records banned people from breaking this record due to many cat owners overfeeding their cats to beat this totally insane record. In fact, this cat was so fat that it had to literally be carried in a wheelbarrow.
David Blaine, a 52-year-old man (as of now), encased himself in a block of ice in the middle of New York’s Times Square for 63 hours and 42 minutes (2 days). The stunt was supposed to last for 70 hours, but David started experiencing shock, requiring him to be removed with chainsaws and hospitalized for 1 month. This record was banned because of how dangerous it was.
Known as the “human mole,” Geoff Smith set the world record for the most time buried alive, being buried alive for 147 days. Geoff was buried alive from August 1998 to January 1999. This record was banned due to the extreme risk of oxygen depletion. (They used specialty coffins equipped with many safety features, such as breathing tubes and basic comforts.) Even with many safety features, this record is extremely dangerous to attempt.
This record was set in 1986 in Cleveland. The government of Cleveland wanted to do something special for their balloon fest, so they released 1.5 million balloons into the air at once. The balloons clogged the airspace, and many of the balloons landed in lakes and rivers, polluting them. Guinness banned this world record due to the obvious pollution and danger.
Randy Gardner stayed awake for 11 days and 24 minutes (264 hours) for a SCIENCE EXPERIMENT. Guinness banned this world record because during this time, Randy experienced mood swings, memory issues, and hallucinations. This makes it the most insane world record ever, because of the dangers and mental health issues it brings to people.
Those are the most insane world records set. Maybe someday, a very brave and bold person will go out to break these insane records.

This movie is all about determination, confidence, friendship, and believing in yourself and others. This is a great movie to watch with a large group of friends, like at a sleepover or just for fun.
Enola Holmes Rating: PG-13 Where to find: Netflix
This is the movie to watch when you're in the mood for a mysterious, strange, romantic movie that requires detective skills to predict what will happen next. I recommend watching this either completely alone, in the comfort of your bed, or with a large group of friends eating popcorn.
