Janet Stramel is a Professor of Teacher Education and Edna Shutts Williams Endowed Chair at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. She teaches Elementary Mathematics Methods to preservice teachers, and is the Co-PI on two NSF Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarships. Dr. Stramel has served as a mathematics consultant for professional development to school districts in Kansas, and has presented at numerous conferences on teaching elementary mathematics with a conceptual understanding.

Kristina Wambold is the Digital Learning Coach for ESD 112, and is a Google for Education Certified Trainer and Certified Adobe Education Trainer. She specializes in providing professional development to educators on STEM practices, Computer Science Integration, Project Based Learning and emerging and engaging technologies effectively in the classroom.

Elena Lopez is the Senior Manager of Professional Learning for the California Science Center. She has been working at the science center since 2009 as the bridge for informal and formal education. Ms. Lopez is involved in all aspects of the Professional Learning Programs, for elementary school teachers. Main emphasis is to provide best practices for STEM education through the Next Generation Science Standards, Interactive Science Notebooks, integration across all subject areas and deepening educators science concepts. In addition to her current work, she was a former bilingual elementary teacher and director of private and state preschools. Her knowledge and interests for STEM education derive from her passion to bring science to all students and leveraging inequality in education.

Lisa H. Pallett is an AssociateProfessor at Notre Dame of Maryland University, where she teaches undergraduate and graduate level courses in mathematics education. She is the program coordinator for Secondary Mathematics and the Mathematics Instructional Leadership program at the university and works closely with local public schools to support student interns and provide professional development for teachers. In addition to her current work as a professor, she has been a classroom teacher, mathematics resource teacher, mathematics coach, and mathematics intervention teacher. She is knowledgeable about and interested in preparing teacher candidates to teach elementary mathematics.

Toni Stith, Senior Manager of STEM Professional Learning at Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh (PA) provides professional development to teachers and educational leaders in STEM education. She trains them to evaluate and improve their STEM education programs utilizing the Carnegie STEM Excellence Pathway. She helps them to identify resources that will help them reach their self-improvement goals through the use of STEMisphere. Throughout her teaching career, she served as a math instructional and data coach and as a middle-school math and science teacher. In 2008, she received the Milken National Educator Award and was a Fulbright Memorial Fellowship teacher-scholar for three weeks in Japan. She is actively involved in the 100kin10 network and served as Research Scout for the Foundational Math Communities in the Spring, 2021.

Frederick Uy
Frederick Uy, a former Professor of Mathematics Education at Cal State LA and a K-12 mathematics teacher, serves both as a Director in the Department of Educator Preparation and Public School Programs and Co-Director for the Center for the Advancement of Instruction in Quantitative Reasoning. He now is responsible for overseeing and increasing the capacity of the department to provide leadership and support to the educator preparation programs on campuses across the CSU. He has contributed to CSU initiatives in secondary school teacher mathematics preparation as a mathematics trainer and as a leader in the CSU MTE-P. Dr. Uy also has served as a mathematics consultant for school districts and publishers and has conducted numerous professional development workshops in topics like mathematics pedagogy, teaching mathematics to ELs, assessments, arts integration, and bilingual education.

Cayla is the Managing Director of Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education at Teach For America. Her work focuses on the direction of TFA’s Pre-Service and early career teacher training and support across the nation. Previous to this role, Cayla taught Head Start Pre-K in and around Chicago. She holds a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education from Indiana University and a Master’s in Education from Johns Hopkins University.
