Global Citizenship Day

On March 18th and 19th, we will be commemorating our first-ever Global Citizenship Day events! Global Citizenship is a pillar at Escola Eleva, and it refers to our belief in actively and positively engaging in the world around us. We believe that young people (and adults too!) have an obligation to become aware of social and ecological injustices and to take initiative in order to make positive changes. We must recognize that along with rights come responsibilities.
We are looking forward to expanding on this theme as a community by inviting Escola Eleva students and their families to join us here at school. Infantil students and their parents/guardians will have a special “Art & Sustainability” workshop along with a healthy snack at specific times during the school day on Friday. On Saturday morning, 1st to 4th and 5th to 7th grade students will have their events - a series of workshops, a local Recife NGO fair, and the chance to try tasty, locally-made, sustainable foods.
In order to best prepare for the event, we ask that each family please fill out the following RSVP form by Sunday (13/03) to let us know if you plan to attend or not, and to inform how many people will be coming. The exact day / time for each grade level is specified in the form.
We kindly request that every family bring a 1-kilo bag of a non-perishable food item for donation as an entry ticket to our event. See you on Friday (infantil) and Saturday (1st to 7th)!

Nos dias 18 e 19 de março, estaremos comemorando nossos primeiros eventos do Global Citizenship Day! A Cidadania Global é um pilar da Escola Eleva e se refere à nossa crença em nos engajarmos ativa e positivamente no mundo ao nosso redor. Acreditamos que os jovens (e os adultos também!) têm a obrigação de se conscientizar das injustiças sociais e ecológicas e tomar iniciativas para fazer mudanças positivas. Devemos reconhecer que junto com os direitos vêm as responsabilidades.
Estamos ansiosos para expandir esse tema como comunidade, convidando os alunos da Escola Eleva e suas famílias a se juntarem a nós aqui na escola. Os alunos do Infantil e seus pais/responsáveis terão uma oficina especial “Arte & Sustentabilidade” juntamente com um lanche saudável em horários específicos durante o dia letivo na sexta-feira. Na manhã de sábado, os alunos do 1º ao 4º e do 5º ao 7º ano terão seus eventos - uma série de oficinas, uma feira de ONG local de Recife e a chance de experimentar comidas saborosas, feitas localmente e de maneira sustentáveis.
Para nos prepararmos melhor para o evento, pedimos que cada família preencha o seguinte formulário de RSVP até domingo (13/03) para nos informar se pretende participar ou não, e informar quantas pessoas virão. O dia/hora exato para cada série é especificado no formulário.
Solicitamos que cada família traga um saco de 1 quilo de alimento não perecível para doação como ingresso para o nosso evento. Até sexta (Infantil) e sábado (1º a 7º)!
