Renew a License
Upon completion of the renewal criteria set forth by the state, an educator should initiate the license renewal process through their OHID>CORE account. The renewal window opens November 1st of the year prior to the expiration date of the license set to expire. (Example: Expiration date 6-30-2024, renewal window opens 11-1-2023). Educators affiliated with the ESCNEO LPDC should use the ESCNEO IRN-008493 when applying for renewal.

Sample Renewal Process:
Educator completes all 18 CEUs (or equivalent PD) and has all activities approved through the LPDC.
Educator submits new fingerprints as needed in alignment with 5-year state requirement.
Educator completes application for license renewal through OHID>CORE account, adding the LPDC IRN to their application.
Upon submission, the state will prompt chairperson and/or co-chair via email to review the request and sign off that the IPDP and corresponding Professional Development requirements have been met.
Chair or co-chair will complete the e-signature process in CORE.
State will ensure payment and fingerprint requirements have been met by applicant.
If all criteria have been met, state will issue new 5-year license.
Upon receipt of newly issued license, educator should submit a new IPDP to the LPDC for review/approval so they can begin to collect activities toward renewal criteria for the new license cycle.
Align a License
Aligning your licenses means you are changing the effective year of one or more currently expiring licenses to match the effective year of a previously issued, active, standard teaching license. Once your licenses are aligned, they will all have the same expiration date. This will allow you to renew all of them at the same time, which will reduce your licensure costs and allow you to use the same professional development to renew all your professional licenses.
