Communication Tools
Talking Points - Communicate with families in their native language. Simply type the message in English and send it to parents in their native language. They can then reply to you and the message will be translated back into English.
Microsoft Inclusive Classroom - Create live captions and subtitles in PowerPoint. The presentation will present captions in real-time. Subtitles can be presented in English or in another language. Also included is the Microsoft Translator. The program will listen and translate in real-time so all parties can know what is being said.
Accommodation Tools
Google Translate App - Use the camera feature on your Google Translate app to scan images for text and translate the text into different languages. (Note: the translation won't be perfect, but it will definitely help Emerging Bilingual students.)
Read and Write (extension) - Read & Write is a literacy support tool that offers help with everyday tasks like reading text out loud, understanding unfamiliar words, researching assignments, and proofing written work. Includes tools like highlighters, voice notes, vocabulary tools, and more!
Rewordify - Free online software that simplifies difficult text to help students better understand language. Learners can compare the original text with the "rewordified" version to gain a better understanding of difficult words.
Natural Reader - A freemium product from TextHelp (creators of Read & Write) that offers text-to-speech accommodation for beginning and struggling readers. There is also a Chrome Extension available for this product. The free version allows for up to 20,000 characters per day (20ish minutes) of reading/listening support.

Nearpod - An interactive presentation and classroom engagement tool that allows teachers to create and deliver interactive lessons to students. It offers a variety of features such as real-time student feedback, formative assessments, virtual reality experiences, and collaborative activities.
BrainPOP - An educational platform that offers animated videos, quizzes, and interactive activities on a wide range of subjects for students of all ages. It covers various topics such as science, math, social studies, English, health, arts, and more! Also available as a mobile app on iOS and Android devices.
Discovery Education Experience (DEX) - DEX is an immersive educational experience that combines quality video, audio, text, and image resources with immersive lessons and assessments. It has built-in immersive reader functionality, available closed captioning, and allows Google and Microsoft translator extensions. DEX is a one-stop shop for all your educational needs.
