The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) is a voluntary, nonprofit, statewide educational association that serves and represents local Texas school boards and was established in 1949 with two main goals in mind:
To share information through publications and training to help Texas board members serve their communities more effectively.
To speak with a unified voice to decision makers to chart the best future for Texas public schools.
The Texas Association of Community Schools (TACS) represents public school districts with 12,000 ADA and below. This means our membership comprises the small, mid-sized and rural school districts in Texas. There are 954 public school districts eligible for institutional membership.
The Equity Center was founded in 1982 by 55 school districts and now represents more than 600 of the state’s 1,018 districts. We are the only non-profit education organization in Texas exclusively representing the interests of children and taxpayers across the state. Fair treatment of Texas children and taxpayers is our primary goal and our vision is simple: Students Matter. Taxpayers Matter. Equity Matters.
