Utilizing the Get Better Faster principles and framework, coaching will comprise of observing, modeling, providing feedback, and perfecting the practice. Coaching will focus on best practices as listed in the Dyslexia Handbook to ensure instruction is explicit, systematic, and intentional in its approach. Services provided include:
o Modeling lessons in classrooms
o Supporting the instructional development of teachers in understanding the components of dyslexia instruction
o Building strong classroom culture and relationships
o Providing direction and coordination for how the curriculum is taught consistent with instructional practices.
o Assisting teachers with resources, materials, tools, information, etc. to support classroom instruction and planning, including new resources.
o Supporting teachers in using data to improve instruction
o Assisting teachers with planning and pacing of lessons, the development of differentiated lessons for specially designed instruction, and the selection of best practices to meet the needs of their students.
o Informally observing (non-evaluative) lessons and providing feedback for a teacher’s professional growth and students’ success
o Developing coaching plans for teachers to ensure student improvement
