Some school district funding comes from federal funding pushed out as grants through the Texas Education Agency (TEA). TEA posts grant opportunities and other TEA grant resources at this link: tea.texas.gov/Finance_and_Grants/Grants/Applying_for_a_Grant
School districts can also apply for grants directly from the federal government such as grants to fund Head Start. Federal grants can be located through Grants.gov which can be found at this link: https://www.grants.gov/
Other sources of funding include grants from private foundations, professional organizations and other charitable groups. To locate potential funding sources and guidance, contact Mark Billingley at 325-675-8612 or mbillingsley@esc14.net.
Educator grant funding comes mostly from TEA as pass-through grants from the federal government; however, grants occasionally come from applying directly to the federal government through grants.gov, as is the case with Head Start grant funding. Though more competitive and less successful, educators can consider reaching out to private foundations to seek funding for projects not presently funded from other resources. Teachers and other educators desiring grant funding should first reach out to his or her administration. Once approved to seek philanthropic funding, educators can contact Mark Billingsley, Region 14 Grant Consultant, by calling him at 325-675-8612. Once Mark has some idea of the needs, he will then, as time allows, search and/or watch for grants that seem to best match the needs of staff and the school district.
