Viviana Giselle Novelo, a junior at James Pace Early College High School in Brownsville, Texas, is a three-time SkillsUSA state qualifier for technical drafting and applied engineering, a Technology Student Association (TSA) state qualifier for digital video production, and recently advanced to Bi-District for UIL One-Act Play. In the summer of 2023, Viviana was accepted to the NASA SEES Internship Program with the University of Texas at Austin to participate in high altitude ballooning and atmospheric research. The research and abstract were accepted by the American Geophysical Union (AGU) and was presented this past December in San Francisco. Additionally, this past summer she participated in the Brown University Pre-College Program for Philosophy and this summer aims to participate in the U.S. Politics and Government Pre-College Program with Georgetown University. Before graduation, she wishes to continue being involved with the South Texas Astronomical Society (STARS) and performing with Brownsville’s community theater: The Camille Playhouse.
