Being former school teachers ourselves, we know how difficult it is to make a paycheck stretch for an entire money, especially during the summer and winter breaks. Ask yourself: Do you constantly ask where your money went at the end of the month? Do you ever forget to pay a bill because it was overlooked? Do you live paycheck-to-paycheck and struggle to get ahead? The Money Funnel System is a simple and effective system to gain control of your money. Designed by a young couple who wanted to gain control of their money, they learned from their financial mistakes and hardships, and want you to benefit!· Gain vision for where your money needs to go. · Create accountability for each payment—and pay it on time! · Store up the excess in savings or for other needs—not because you “should” but because you can!This is a level-headed, common sense approach to organizing money. Implement the step-by-step Money Funnel system, and freedom from financial disorganization can be yours.

The South Texas Literacy Coalition team will review basic budgeting techniques for adults and teens, along with savings and credit management strategies to help manage your financial resources and encourage students to do the same! During our presentation, we will be joined by three guest panelists including a high school senior, recent undergraduate student and graduate student student to provide better insight on decisions current youth are facing when dealing with finances.

Junior Achievement of South Texas is part of the world’s largest nonprofit dedicated to motivating kids for future career success, self-sufficiency, and financial acumen. We accomplish this through a huge network of stellar volunteers who share their stories with young people and deliver lessons in career readiness, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship. JA is dedicated to give young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their futures, and make smart academic and economic choices. This is achieved by recruiting volunteers from the community to teach young people financial literacy using our proprietary programs which are all TEKS correlated. During this session, we will discuss what we have to offer our educators and students and how they can impact lives in your community.Page updated
