Welcome to our Virtual Calming Room!
These current times may be challenging for all. So much unexpected change occurred in all of our lives from one day to the next. There may be so many feelings you are experiencing throughout the day or all at once. Whether you feel scared, confused, lonely, numb, angry, anxious, grateful or calm the Student Services Department wants you to know that your feelings are valid, no matter what they are. We commend you for your resilience and determination to persevere during these trying times.
The Virtual Calming Room was created for students, families and staff as a place to explore, enjoy, and learn new techniques for managing your emotions and feelings. We are here to support you!

Estos tiempos actuales pueden ser muy difíciles para todos. Se produjeron tantos cambios inesperados en todas nuestras vidas de un día para otro. Puede haber muchos sentimientos que experimente durante el día o todos a la vez. GRRR! UGH! Are you "seeing red"? Is your mood HOT? Do you feel like you are going to EXPLODE!? If so, spend some time listening to stories and doing activities that may help redirect your thinking to manage your feelings.

The Red Zone is used to describe extremely heightened states of alertness and intense emotions. A person may be elated or experiencing anger, rage, devastation, or terror when in the Red Zone.
Yellow Zone Room
Are you having "one of those days"? Where life is just too much to handle? If so, spend some time listening to stories and doing activities to help redirect your thinking.

The Yellow Zone is also used to describe a heightened state of alertness and elevated emotions, however one has more control when in the Yellow Zone. A person may be experiencing stress, frustration, anxiety, excitement, silliness, the wiggles, or nervousness.
Blue Zone Room
SIGH. Gloomy? Glum? Feeling blue? Are you tired or simply bored? Are you struggling with a ho-hum life? If so, spend some time listening to stories that may help and by doing activities to help redirect your thinking to manage your feelings.

The Blue Zone is used to describe low states of alertness and down feelings such as when one feels sad, tired, sick, or bored.
Green Zone Room
Happy? Calm? Focused? Ready to learn? If so, spend some time exploring the GREEN ZONE room.

The Green Zone is used to describe a calm state of alertness. A person may be described as happy, focused, content, or ready to learn when in the Green Zone. This is the zone where optimal learning occurs.
