Mr. Zeko: Digital PHoto/Digital Communications

About the Teacher

I graduated from Cal State Fullerton (go Titans!) with a major in Communications-Photojournalism and a minor in geography a really, really long time ago! (If you really want to know just how old I am you could do some research-the Titans actually had a top 20 Division One football team at the time!

After a variety of photography jobs, I took meteorology courses from Mississippi State University (and briefly) pursued a career as a television weather forecaster (I wanted to be the next Dallas Raines). Those audition tapes will remain deeply buried!

I began my education coursework at the University of New Mexico, and my teaching career officially began at a small school near Old Town, Albuquerque.

I returned to California in 1990 and I began teaching English and coaching basketball at my alma mater, St. Paul (go Swordsmen!). While teaching at St. Paul, I completed my teaching credential and Master’s degree in Education at Whittier College (go Poets?).

I remained at St. Paul for the next seven years where I met the beautiful Mrs. Zeko and began raising our two wonderful boys, Noah and Jonah.

I moved over to “the Ranch” in 1997, initially as a member of the English Department, before joining the creative minds of the VAPA department in 2007. Since 2000 I have also served as the advisor for El Rodeo, El Rancho's newspaper/news site.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy traveling throughout the world with my wife, running (OK, jogging!), reading mysteries and thrillers, attending concerts, and watching just about all sports (my current favorite teams are the Los Angeles Kings and Los Angeles Angels (really tough time for Angels fans!).
