March is National Arts Education Month - Let's Celebrate!
Every year, schools across the United States celebrate the Arts during the month of March and this year, we are celebrating in Tulare County too. The arts are an essential part of a well-rounded education, providing students with the necessary skills for success in life. The arts can honor culture, diversity, history, and traditions. Participation in the arts can also promote health, wellness, inclusion, and acceptance. Creativity and artistic expression allow students to find their voices and to find themselves.
Over the last twelve months, as the world has changed, the arts have become an essential outlet for hope and healing. To honor Arts Education Month and to recognize the impact that the arts have had during the extraordinary 2020-21 school year, the Tulare County Office of Education chose to host this virtual Arts Education Month Celebration. Tulare County Schools were encouraged to join the celebration by submitting artifacts including photographs, videos, and stories showcasing the arts and creativity. The response was overwhelming! Over 1,000 submissions arrived from across Tulare County. The songs, dances, films, artworks, photographs, plays, and poems shared on this website tell the story of a year that has been anything but ordinary.
Thank you to the students, teachers, and families for all of your hard work, courage, and strength over the last twelve months.
We recognize you, we honor you, and we celebrate you! This webpage is dedicated to each and every one of you.
The Arts Heal. The Arts Save. The Arts Matter.
