Students were asked to consider the vast waste mismanagement issues in our community, city, state, and/or world. They were asked to pay attention to their personal and family waste creation over the fall break. For their final project before winter break, they were asked to use the waste they gathered to create a work of art that could draw attention to waste mismanagement or time spans of decomposition as well as the value of recycling and minimizing waste footprints. Their final sculptures were powerful and still paid attention to aesthetic value, a valuable part of art making.
