Pantomime

Our beginning theatre class worked on Pantomime last semester and as their final project, they chose a simple task to pantomime and make it as detailed as possible. Aliyah and Jordan do a fantastic job from beginning to end with their gestures and facial expressions!

VAPA Rap

VAPA Rap was written to help show others what the arts mean to us and to teach it to students so they can with confidence tell someone what VAPA stands for! My students performed this at a board meeting in September and really got their attention with this catchy chant! Visual-Arts, Performing-Arts! The VA-PA is where it starts!

Shea participated in Burton's VAPA Inspirational Challenge at the end of last school year as a way to encourage and inspire others when the 'world' first shut down. She wrote an original poem where she talks directly to the coronavirus and powerfully proclaims that we will NOT be overcome!

"I wrote this song in May of 2020 at the very end of the school year and it was a parting gift from me to my students. My students, and just students in general, were heavy on my heart with how this pandemic was affecting them and so I wrote a song to let them know that they can always count on not just me, but all their teachers! We are still here for them...now more than ever!"
