Why

What is a Makerspace? Why should I consider having one?

A Makerspace is any place in which learners can share STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) related concepts or interests, and then collaborate with other learners on ideas and hands-on constructed projects. In support of this, Makerspaces provide learners the unique and empowering experience of utilizing state-of-the-art (or even everyday) materials, equipment, and tools.

Our Makerspace, located at 7000 West Doe Avenue, Suite A, Visalia, is open. We invite Tulare County district and school administrators, technology coaches, and teachers to make arrangements with us to visit the Makerspace, in order to gain ideas in creating and supporting a local Makerspace of their very own. We are currently showcasing a growing variety of work areas and flexible seating, unique painted-on whiteboard area, wall-sized magnetic whiteboard spaces, Lego brick wall and station, compressed air stations, tool storage solutions, 3D printer and laser cutter/engraver stations. We've also recently added a vinyl printer and heat presses. Additional 3D printers, specialized equipment, and storage and work solutions are soon to follow.
