Hello,
My name is Eric, and I am a licensed civil engineer. I am also somewhat of a jack-of-all-trades/do-it-yourselfer, almost to a fault. I always seem to be working on a new project, both at home and at work. At work, I have a specialized role, but at home, I am the general maintenance guy, the lawn guy, the plumber, the electrician, the IT guy, the car mechanic, the painter, and whatever else is needed to keep the house in working order.
As an engineer, I have to do my research and preparation before any project is started. Even after the project is well underway, despite all the preparation, there are always challenges that arise. The best way to be prepared for those obstacles is to learn from experience. The nice thing is that we can learn from others' experiences.
Of course, there are many resources nowadays, whether it be YouTube, books, professional advice, friends, or even blogs like this one. The more complicated the project, the more resources we should use. Hopefully, this site can assist you with your project.
Thanks for reading,
Eric
