1. When and where will the National Summit on Botanic Gardens and Arboreta be held?

The National Summit on Botanic Gardens and Arboreta (NSBGA) will be held on May 25-29, 2026 (travel time included). 

This will be conducted in a hybrid manner (Acacia Hotel Alabang; Zoom Platform).

2. Where can I get updates and announcements about the Summit?

3. How was the onsite and virtual participation determined?

Considering the current government austerity measures and the location of participants, the NSBGA Team determined whether participants will attend onsite or virtually.

4. Will certificates be provided?

Yes. Certificates of participation and presentation will be provided to participants and presenters.

FAQs FOR PRESENTERS

A. General Concerns

1. How do I confirm my participation?

You may confirm your participation by sending an email to nsbga@erdb.denr.gov.ph.

2. What happens if I fail to confirm my participation?

Failure to confirm within the prescribed period may affect your inclusion in the final program and presentation schedule.

3. Where should I submit my presentation requirements?

All requirements must be submitted via email through nsbga@erdb.denr.gov.ph

B. FAQs FOR POSTER PRESENTERS

1. What are the required sections of the poster?

The poster must contain the following sections:

• Title, Author/s, and Affiliation
• Introduction
• Methodology
• Results and Discussion
• Conclusion and Recommendations
• References and Acknowledgement

2. What are the technical specifications for the poster?

The poster must follow these specifications:

• Orientation: Portrait

• Poster Size: 2.2 (w) x 6 (ht) feet or 26.4 (w) x 72 (ht) inches

• File Format: JPEG or PNG (along with Canva link or PSD file)

• Resolution: Minimum 300 DPI

• File Naming: NSBGA_PosterTitle.jpg or NSBGA_PosterTitle.png

3. What is the deadline for poster submission?

The deadline for poster submission is May 11, 2026.

4. Is there an oral component for poster presenters?

Yes. All Poster Presenters are required to deliver a maximum of 5-minute Dash Talk during the Summit.

5. Do Poster Presenters need to prepare a PowerPoint presentation?

Yes. Poster Presenters are required to prepare a short PowerPoint presentation highlighting the important points of their study for the Dash Talk session.

6. What should be included in the Dash Talk presentation?

Only the most essential information should be included, such as:
• Research objectives
• Methodology
• Key findings
• Conclusion and recommendations

C. FAQs FOR ORAL PRESENTERS

1. What are the requirements for Oral Presenters?

Oral Presenters are required to submit:
• An Extended Abstract
• A PowerPoint Presentation

2. What are the specifications for the Extended Abstract?

The Extended Abstract must:
• Be 4–5 pages long
• Use 1.5 line spacing
• Use 12-point font
• Be in A4 paper size format

3. What sections should be included in the Extended Abstract?

The following outline must be followed:

• Title, Authors’ Names, and Information Details
• Abstract
• Brief Introduction
• Brief Methodology
• Brief Results and Discussion
• Conclusion and Recommendations
• References

4. What is the deadline for Extended Abstract submission?

The deadline for submission of the Extended Abstract is May 08, 2026 (Friday).

5. How long is the oral presentation?

Each Oral Presenter will be given 15-20 minutes to present their study.

On the other hand, Virtual Oral Presenters are required to submit a 15-20-minute video recording of their presentation. 

The video presentation must follow these specifications:

• Format: MP4, at least 1080p

• Deadline: Please submit your video by May 18, 2026 (Monday)

• Submission: Please upload your file to this Google Drive link: NSBGA Video Presentations

• Zoom link will be provided to join the live online meeting while the presentations are delivered at the Summit, and for you to address questions.

6. Do Oral Presenters need to prepare a PowerPoint presentation?

Yes. Oral Presenters are required to prepare a PowerPoint presentation for their study, and submit to NSBGA Secretariat on or before May 18, 2026 (Monday).

7. What should be included in the oral presentation slides?

Please include only the most important and relevant information, such as:
• Background of the study
• Objectives
• Methodology
• Significant findings
• Conclusion and recommendations

9. What happens if I miss the submission deadline?

Late submissions may no longer be accommodated due to the preparation timeline of the Summit program and materials.

10. Do presenters need to attend all Summit sessions?

Presenters are highly encouraged to attend all sessions to maximize learning, networking, and engagement opportunities during the Summit.
