Dia de los Muertos Unit- This unit is filled in Mexican culture as students learn more about the cultural products, practices and perspectives on death. They will be exposed to calavera and papel picado art. Comparisons will be made between Halloween and el Día de los Muertos.

In this unit, students will build on a vocabulary base established in the elementary school to describe articles of clothing and accessories in the target language. They will express likes and dislikes of fashion styles, as well as recognize different fabrics and their care.
The unit assessment involves shopping in Corte Inglés, the biggest department store in Europe. They will compare the value of clothes between the U.S. and Spain stores, research various stores in Spain identify different articles of clothing, and calculate the price of clothing using currency exchange rates.
They will gain knowledge of fashion designers within the target culture as well as describe the use of recycled materials in the production of clothing.
