Parents will have an opportunity to learn information related to typical language development, as well as techniques to support preschoolers in developing communication skills through everyday interactions.

On March 27, 2025, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm, the East Rutherford School District SEPAG, in collaboration with SPAN Parent Advocacy Network, invites you to attend the following workshop: Basic Rights in Special Education. This workshop, presented by SPAN, will educate families about their rights and responsibilities as parents of children with special needs. The session will cover the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), the New Jersey Administrative Code, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. Parents will gain a better understanding of these laws and how to advocate for their children. This training is valuable for parents of children with identified special needs, as well as for parents of children who are struggling in school and may be in the process of being evaluated for services. On Monday, October 28, the ERSD has put together an informational parent night with District and Preschool Leadership related to the Preschool Expansion Aid and implications for the ERSD. Learn more about how our newly awarded Preschool Expansion Aid will positively impact our early childhood program and community.
On Tuesday, February 11, the staff members from the ERSD have developed a program to support positive parenting that benefits our earliy learners. The objective is to assist parents in enhancing communication skills with their preschoolers while also sharing strategies on how to foster an environment that supports early cognitiveand emotional development. Led by Dr. Lee, Mrs. Credico, Dr. King-Dobson, and Mr. Barrow.

Join us on Thursday, March 6, where the ERSD has coordinated an opportunity with Bergen's Promise to talk about the challeneges young Americans face in regards to social media. This virtual presentation is designed to help support parents in their understanding of the landscape of today's social media outlets/platforms and to discuss strategies to ensure the safety of their children when online.

On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM EDT, the East Rutherford School District, in collaboration with Bergen's Promise, invites all parents to attend a virtual information session: Understanding the System: CSOC, Wraparound Services, & Bergen Resource Net. During this session, the presenter will provide an overview of in-home and in-community services available at no cost to families through the New Jersey Children’s System of Care (CSOC) and Bergen’s Promise (BP). The workshop will also introduce families to Bergen County’s mobile-friendly, translatable resource directory — BergenResourceNet.org.
