I am so excited to be teaching 5th grade this year. I was born and raised in the small West Texas town of Guthrie, and I’m proud to bring that small-town spirit into my classroom. I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in History from Texas Tech University (Wreck ’Em!), and I’ve spent the past 20 years teaching at both the collegiate and secondary levels.
This is my second year teaching 5th grade, and I’m thrilled to continue this fun chapter. I have a deep love for learning, and I’m especially passionate about UIL academics—helping students grow and challenge themselves through academic competition is one of my favorite parts of being an educator.
When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my wonderful husband, Charlie, and our two daughters: Mia (18) and Hattie Mae (7). We’re so excited to be part of the Hornet family and look forward to a fantastic year ahead!
