How often does my child visit the library?

Students visit once a week on their scheduled Library day.

How many books can students check out of the library?

Preschool students select one book and keep it in their classroom.  Kindergarten students are able to check out 1 book and bring it home to read.  Students in Grade 1 through 4 are able to check out 2 books. Students can visit the Library for book exchange as many times as they want throughout the week on an individual basis with permission from their classroom teacher.


What happens if my child forgets a book on their Library day?

Students may visit the library on an individual basis at any time throughout the week.  They do not have to wait for their scheduled Library day to exchange books. If they forget their book on Library day, they can bring it in the next day and visit the library to exchange it for another book.

What types of activities will my preschool child participate in during Library time?

Preschool students visit the Library for 30 minutes and participate in an age-appropriate read-aloud/activity/lesson.  They will have time to select a book to keep in the classroom, followed by some time enjoying our Library Centers.

What types of activities will my Kindergarten through Grade 4 child participate in during Library time?

Students in Kindergarten through Grade 4 visit the Library for 40 minutes and participate in an age-appropriate read-aloud/activity/lesson.  They will have time to checkout books, followed by some time enjoying our Library Centers.
