Let Books Be: Celebrating Banned Books Week

JRMS celebrated Banned Books Week and this year’s theme, “Let Books Be,” with a Book Cover Contest challenging students to identify the titles and authors of 10 challenged books in our library. Congratulations to our student winners, and thank you to everyone who participated in celebrating the freedom to read!

8th Grade Recognition Ads: Please consider purchasing a yearbook recognition ad. Yearbook ads are a great way to celebrate student success, milestones, and reflect on the person your child has become. Show your pride and support your school at the same time. Ads can be purchased using the link provided below.

Baby Photos(Grade 8 Only):

We are collecting baby photos of all 8th graders to go alongside their portraits in the 8th grade section of the yearbook. The DEADLINE to submit a baby photo is December 1, 2026. Open Positions at JRMS

Interested in supporting JRMS and being part of our school community throughout the day? We currently have several opportunities available to join our team! If you are interested, please visit the ER9 website and select “Join Our Team!”

INDOOR RECESS BOARD GAMES NEEDED

When rainy, snowy, or extra-cold days keep us inside for recess, we want to make sure our students still have opportunities to relax, have fun, and connect with their classmates.

We are looking to build our collection of board games, card games, and other indoor activities for students to enjoy during indoor recess. If your family has any new or gently used games that you would be willing to donate to JRMS, we would greatly appreciate them!

Games that are easy to learn, can be played in about 20 minutes, and work well for small groups are especially helpful.

Donations can be dropped off in the JRMS Main Office at any time.

Thank you for helping us make those indoor recess days a little more fun!
