Help to Design the New HKMS Logo!

Your mission: HKMS is seeking a new design and we want it to come from our community of learners!  We are looking for a student (or staff) designed, original concept, 1st rendering (i.e., an early draft) of a new HKMS Logo! 

What is a logo? It can be defined as,  “a specially designed mark or emblem used by organizations to aid in promoting instant recognition. It may be composed of letters only or a graphic symbol, or a combination of both. It may embody a trade name or a trademark or both” (signbrad.com). It may be best to define it by looking at examples. Which is why we have included lots of examples below.

Who: Open to any current HKMS or SSES student grades 5-8 or staff member.

When: Due Date 5/10/24 - The winning artist will work with a professional design company to create a final rendering of their initial concept. We hope to use the new logo for the start of the 2024-25 school year!

How to submit: Submit your rendering via this Google Form (link here). Submissions can be hand drawn or utilize a digital platform (we recommend Canva). All submissions are considered “early drafts” (maybe not your 1st draft, but does not have to be a perfect final rendering either).  The winning concept will be rendered into a publishable form in collaboration with a professional graphic artist. If hand drawn, please scan to submit or take a picture of your concept to submit.  All images must be saved on your ER9 Google Drive and be no larger than 100MBs. 

How will winners be selected? Submissions will be evaluated against the rubric below.  The top four concepts  will be voted on by the school community to select a final winner!
