Why would I use databases?
Databases are an organized collections of credible, reliable resources that provide information for academic research. Experts write specifically for students and can include articles, images, videos, graphs, statistics, interviews, etc. Databases provide lots of features like different reading levels, transcripts and closed captions for videos, links to other credible information, read aloud options, translations, and more. They often have an embedded citation tool for you to use for your works cited.
When you use a database, you know the information is up to date, accurate, and reliable. You don't need to do all the hard work of figuring that out!
Remember, you cannot search on databases like you would on Google. You will not get results if you type in a specific question. Try different wording of key words and phrases to get results. Sometimes you have to start more broad!
