As we move further into the spring season, I want to first apologize for the delay in sharing this month’s newsletter. This time of year often brings a renewed sense of energy and growth, both in nature and in our schools. Spring is an important time in education, as students continue to build on the progress they’ve made throughout the year while also preparing to demonstrate their learning in meaningful ways.
With that, statewide testing is now underway across our schools. These assessments provide an opportunity for students to show what they know and help guide our instructional planning moving forward. We recognize that testing can sometimes bring feelings of pressure, and we are committed to supporting students both academically and emotionally throughout the process.
To help set students up for success, we’ve included a helpful visual guide above with simple, practical tips families can reinforce at home. Encouraging a good night’s sleep, a healthy breakfast, and arriving at school on time can make a significant difference. Additionally, reminding students to take their time, stay positive, and use calming strategies, like deep breathing, can help them feel more confident and focused.
As always, thank you for your continued partnership and support. Together, we can ensure that our students approach this season with confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of accomplishment.
Please be on the lookout for an invitation to attend the Chat & Coffee with Dr. Pogonelski. The date is TBD, but it will be a Friday in May.
