NEW VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Kind Works- Bethel:
Kind Works in Bethel is looking for mentors/ volunteers!
The mission of Kind Works is to inspire humans to act more kindly toward themselves and each other- one person, one Kind act and one community at a time. We know that all it takes is one kind gesture to send a ripple through a community and transform lives, and that’s why we are so excited to announce the creation of Kind Works Incorporated, an organization focused on showering people with positivity, empathy, inclusion and respect. We are a nonprofit organization continuing the impactful work that Ben’s Bells CT volunteers have done for nearly 12 years.
This important mentor role enables older students to model positive behaviors and foster meaningful connections with younger participants, creating an opportunity to cultivate kindness throughout our community. The hope is that this is a meaningful and fulfilling experience for both the students and mentors.

New Canaan Mounted Troop, Inc- New Canaan:
Super Troopers- Equine Therapeutic Volunteers
The Super Troopers program provides equine therapeutic services to children and adults with special needs, with the assistance of PATH International certified instructors and dedicated volunteers. We have both an adaptive riding program as well as an equine care program for those students that do not want to ride but would still like to spend time with the horses.
Our volunteers choose their time and days to volunteer. We have three areas that the volunteers help out with. One is our Adaptive Riding Program where they will walk/jog alongside a mounted student during their class time. Class time is usually 30 - 60 min long. The second volunteer opportunity is during our Equine Care Program. This type of class is approx 45 min long. You would be paired with a student to help with class activities as well as keep them safe while in the barn. The third class to volunteer with this is our younger students ages 4-7 called Little Troopers. This class is 60 min long and the curriculum is structured to familiarize children with our horses, facilities and routines with the goal of preparing them for either Horsemanship or Super Troopers Program. Volunteers help the instructor with a class size of 4-5 students while they learn the fundamentals of barn safety, equine care, and teamwork through various horse activities.
