At Uplawmoor Primary, we believe in giving our pupils a voice and encouraging them to take an active role in school life. Our school committees help children develop leadership skills, work as a team, and make a positive impact on our school community.
Our Committees
Pupil Council
The School Council is made up of elected representatives from each class. They meet regularly to discuss ideas, share pupils' opinions, and help make decisions that improve school life.
Rights Respecting Committee
The Rights Respecting Committee is dedicated to promoting children's rights and ensuring our school is a place where every child feels valued, respected and heard.
Eco Committee
The Eco Committee promotes sustainability in our school. They work on projects like recycling, saving energy, and making our outdoor spaces greener.
Digital Leaders
Digital Leaders help promote online safety and responsible technology use. They assist in using technology in the classroom and support younger pupils in developing their digital skills.
STEM Committee
The STEM Committee explores exciting topics in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths. They help organise fun experiments, challenges, and competitions to inspire a love for STEM subjects across the school.
Reading Committee
The Reading Committee promotes a love of books and storytelling. They organise book swaps, reading challenges, and special events such as World Book Day celebrations to encourage everyone to enjoy reading.
Play Committee (P1 & P2)
The Play Committee is specially designed for our youngest pupils in Primary 1 and Primary 2. This committee focuses on making committee time fun, creative, and inclusive.Â
