At Uplawmoor Primary, we believe in giving our pupils a voice and encouraging them to take an active role in school life. Our school committees help children develop leadership skills, work as a team, and make a positive impact on our school community.
Our Committees
Pupil Council & Rights Respecting Committee
The School Council is made up of elected representatives from each class. They meet regularly to discuss ideas, share pupils' opinions, and help make decisions that improve school life.This year our Pupil Council will have a Rights Respecting focus, promoting children's rights and ensuring our school is a place where every child feels valued, respected and heard.
Learning for Sustainability/Eco Committee
The LfS/Eco Committee promotes sustainability in our school. They work on projects like recycling, saving energy, and making our outdoor spaces greener.
Digital Leaders
Digital Leaders help promote online safety and responsible technology use. They assist in using technology in the classroom and support younger pupils in developing their digital skills.
STEM Committee
The STEM Committee explores exciting topics in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths. They help organise fun experiments, challenges, and competitions to inspire a love for STEM subjects across the school.
Reading Committee
The Reading Committee promotes a love of books and storytelling. They organise book swaps, reading challenges, and special events such as World Book Day celebrations to encourage everyone to enjoy reading.
Play Leaders Committee
The Play Leader Committee is a group of enthusiastic pupils who work together to develop and improve play opportunities throughout the school – both in the playground and in classrooms. Their role is to make sure playtimes and learning breaks are fun, creative, and inclusive for everyone.
Modern Languages Committee
The Modern Languages Committee is a group of pupils who work together to celebrate and promote language learning across the school. Committee members meet regularly to share ideas, listen to classmates, and plan activities that help us practise and enjoy different languages.
Outdoor Learning Committee
The Outdoor Learning Committee is specially designed for our youngest pupils. This committee focuses on making outdoor time fun, creative, and inclusive.
