Rainbows are used as a symbol of peace and hope as they often appear when the sun follows a heavy rainfall. Children have been responsible for drawing most of the rainbows, which symbolise the sun emerging amid a rainy backdrop. They ultimately serve as a reminder to stay positive, so let’s make our own rainbows in a scientific way.
Please have a look at our new poem for this week. Miss Chrystal is reciting it on twitter too.
Children’s language development thrives through exposure to environments of rich and diverse spoken language experiences. We grow a sense of purpose for the child by our own use of language and engaging them with a wide variety of stories, rhymes, songs, symbols and texts in different media all around them. (Realising the Ambition)
The benefits of Helicopter stories are:
Explore early literacy
• Creates confidences and self-assurance
• Supports the development of speaking skills as children express and share their ideas
• Developing listening skills

During this activity learn what plants need to grow and flourish.
Children enjoy making/creating their own environment, their own miniature worlds. Where they can create fantasy characters or simply act out and understand characters/roles from their own environment. They create stories that enhance/deepen their understanding of the world about them. They can experiment with language they have acquired, as well as new vocabulary they are introduced to.
By playing at shops, children learn about money, they are able to link their personal life experiences to play and to re-enact people and familiar situations, helping them to make sense of the world.
This is a really simple activity that has lots of different learning experiences for the children, and (hopefully) a delicious outcome at the end 😊.

Once you have collected lots of little treasures then you can sort them into categories and begin to make pictures and models of anything you would like. Use your imagination and see what amazing creations you can come up with.
Please share your piece of art with us on Twitter @st_cadocs
