Martin Pretty, CFA – Founding Director & Investment Manager
Martin is an investment manager & analyst with over 20 years’ experience in investment markets, including roles leading teams of investment specialists and building new teams & capabilities. Martin established Equitable Investors and launched its first fund in 2017 after serving four years as an investment manager with Thorney Investment Group.
Martin was an Investment Manager at Thorney for the four years to the end of February 2017 (and Equitable Investors continued the relationship, providing consulting services thereafter). He was a key member of the investment team that delivered the highest annualised three-year return - 18.2% pa - across all of Independent Investment Research's listed investment company universe as of the end of February 2017, as set out in this table (click on the link).
Martin has been a non-executive director of financial advice and services business Centrepoint Alliance (ASX code: CAF) since 2014. Martin headed equities research teams at both Bell Potter and Investorfirst. Earlier in his career, Martin was a finance journalist for The Australian Financial Review and InvestorWeb and subsequently contributed to publications including The Australian, Smart Investor and Eureka Report. Martin is a CFA® charterholder.
Samuel Richards – Operations & Risk Advisor
Samuel was Chief Operating Officer of Goldman Sachs Asset Management and Goldman Sachs Australia Funds Management. Goldman Sachs Asset Management Australia & New Zealand was a $16 billion fund manager that managed portfolios across a range of asset classes for Retail and Institutional clients.
In addition to his role with Equitable Investors, Samuel is also Managing Director of Brightlight Impact Advisory, an impact investment group.
Wadea Katrib - Business Development Advisor
Wadea is a customer focused sales and marketing professional with a strong history of uncovering opportunities for organisations by combining their strengths and creating value for everyone.
Equitable Investors is a shareholder in and partner of OneLenz, which comprises a group of technology and business experts, who have a history of starting, scaling and funding technology companies.
Hugh Robertson – Non-executive Director
Hugh is a senior investment adviser with Bell Potter. He has worked in the stockbroking industry for over 30 years with a variety of firms including Falkiners Stockbroking, Investorfirst and Wilson HTM. Among his areas of interest is a concentration on small cap industrial stocks. He has been a director of a number of ASX-listed entities.
